Family Medicine Hepatology

Trudy’s nursing career started in acute care while working part-time with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves. Once she began pursuing her master of nursing, her military career ended to focus on school and work. As a nurse practitioner she has spent her career with the hepatology team in Calgary. Early in her NP career she worked closely with patients living with viral hepatitis B and C, and sub specialized in hepatitis B in pregnancy. Her passion eventually lead her to managing end stage liver disease and complications of portal hypertension. With her knowledge in advanced liver disease she has been given grants to improve virtual care and palliation amongst this population. When Trudy is not working she spends much of her time with her family. She has a loving husband and two young, busy boys. They spend much of the summer weekends camping with friends and going on bike rides.
